This year, why not treat her to something handmade, delicately scented and tailored to her tastes down to the smallest detail? A scented wax melt box is a creative, heartfelt idea for Mother's Day: endlessly customisable, easy to make and truly one of a kind.
You can fill it with all kinds of creations, depending on what inspires you and what your mum loves: moulded candles, scented wax melts, decorative wax hangers… Let your creativity run free by combining shapes, playing with shades of colour and composing a scent harmony that captures her personality.
To get started, our “My first scented fondants” wax melt kit has everything you need to make at least 24 wax melts, with video instructions.
A creative, customisable gift idea
A scented wax melt box is an original alternative to classic gifts. It lets you put together a made-to-measure selection.
Here, our example is built around a floral, powdery mood, with light pink as the main colour and the “Beloved mom” fragrance. A tender, comforting combination, perfectly in tune with the spirit of Mother's Day!
In the same vein, you might also be tempted to make an autumn bouquet of scented wax flowers, a delicate and poetic variation on the theme. A complete guide is available to walk you through it step by step.

How to make your Mother's Day box
1. Prepare your pieces
If you want to include candles in your box, pick out the pieces that can take a wick. Insert the wicks using centring tools to hold them in place. The other shapes will be used as scented wax melts.

2. Melt and prepare the wax
Melt your wax (soy and beeswax) at 80°C. Divide it up if you want to create several shades. At 75°C, add the dye chips, then stir the fragrance into each batch and mix for 2 minutes.
For a pastel finish: use between 0.1% and 0.2% dye relative to the weight of the wax. For an intense finish: increase the dosage to 0.3% or 0.5% of the wax weight, i.e. around 3 g to 5 g of dye per kg of wax.

3. Pour and create visual effects
Pour the wax into your moulds, alternating colours to create marbled or ombré effects. Vary the style from one shape to the next to add visual interest to your composition.

4. Leave to cool and demould
Let the wax harden completely before gently releasing your creations from their moulds, so that every detail is preserved.

5. Personalise your creations
Add glitter or assemble some of the pieces to create more elaborate designs, such as decorated wax hangers.

6. Put together your Mother's Day box
Arrange your creations in a box, taking care over the presentation. Alternate the shapes, add natural touches and use tissue paper to give the whole arrangement structure and a harmonious look.

Tips for an irresistible box
- Work with a coherent colour palette
- Choose a fragrance that matches the emotion you want to convey
- Add a personalised card
- Offer several variations to suit different tastes
Storage and use
Keep your box away from heat and direct light to preserve the quality of the wax melts. Avoid temperature fluctuations.
When the cold throw starts to fade, use the wax melts in a wax warmer to make their scent last longer. Pieces with a wick can be used as candles, following the usual safety precautions.
A scented gesture that makes all the difference
Giving a scented wax melt box for Mother's Day means offering a one-of-a-kind creation, made with care and intention. Every detail counts and helps turn this gift into a delicate, memorable sensory experience.
