However, it is impossible to convert some synthetic fragrances into natural-origin ones. The reason is that natural-origin fragrances can only be made from raw materials of natural origin.
That is why unusual candle fragrances such as “Christmas cocooning” or “Cut grass”, and almost all fruity fragrances, cannot be recreated the way a synthetic process allows.
Natural-origin fragrances therefore offer less variety, but their scent notes are far more pronounced. If you choose a natural-origin candle fragrance over a conventional one, the dosage drops to 5 to 7%, instead of 7 to 10%.

COSMOS Natural certification: what you need to know for your creations
When you are starting out making handmade candles, scented soaps or home fragrance diffusers, one question often comes up: certification. It is about much more than regulations. It is a real mark of trust and a way to stand out with your customers. Among the best-known labels, COSMOS Natural certification has become a benchmark for natural-origin cosmetics and scented products.
Fragrances in the Ornat range meet the criteria of the COSMOS Natural or Organic label. In practical terms, this means they can be used in finished products (cosmetics, candles, etc.) intended for certification. Please note, however, that this label applies only to the fragrance itself. We also provide an attestation for each fragrance, available on request.
In short, Ornat fragrances are ingredients that are “eligible” for COSMOS Natural and/or Organic certification. The final certification of your product, however, will depend on its overall formulation and on every ingredient used meeting the required criteria. This label gives consumers looking for reliable natural-origin and organic products a genuine guarantee of quality and authenticity.
Another label can also add value to your creations: the Candles and home fragrances of natural origin label issued by ECOCERT. Although we do not provide a specific attestation for this label, our Ornat fragrances meet the criteria set by ECOCERT.
This certification applies more specifically to candles and home fragrances. It is recognised internationally and lets you market your natural-origin or organic creations with official recognition. But for your products to be accepted, the rule is strict: 100% of the ingredients must be of natural origin.
No exceptions are allowed, apart from alcohol denaturants. The formulation must therefore be completely transparent about the origin and quality of its raw materials. That builds credibility and trust with your customers, who know exactly what they are bringing into their homes.
