Fragrancing your car with a diffuser
A homemade car diffuser is the perfect companion for every journey, whether it is your daily commute or a longer trip, and a far cry from the classic little tree air freshener whose scent fades so quickly. Working on a similar principle to the reed diffuser, it releases your fragrance through capillary action, for example.
Before you make and sell your creation, it is essential to comply with the IFRA standards for Category 12 when using our candle fragrances. Every fragrance we offer comes with an IFRA certificate, available on each fragrance's product page. Make sure you stick to the recommended dosages to stay compliant.
If you use our specially formulated range, you will not need to worry about this.
Diffusion through capillary action
All our car diffuser bottles work through capillary action:
- The wooden cap soaks up the scented blend and gradually releases it into the car's interior.
- Diffusion is continuous and hands-free, working on the same principle as reed diffusers for the home.
- The intensity depends on the fragrance dosage and the ventilation inside the car.
Making the blend for your car air freshener
You have two options for making your car air freshener:
- Use Augeo with one of our fragrances for candles, wax melts and diffusers, at a dosage of 5 to 10% fragrance and 90 to 95% Augeo base. Make sure you respect the maximum dosage stated in the IFRA document and, if you sell your creation, make the UFI declaration where required.
- Choose our range of fragrances specially formulated for car diffusers: simply pour the fragrance into your bottle and let the magic happen. All of these fragrances require a UFI declaration, as they are used at 100%. If you want to sell your air freshener, you must declare your fragrance using the number provided on each Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
