How to make your tropical paradise candle
1. Create the pastel gradient in the container
- Start by fixing your wick to the centre of the clear container with a self-adhesive wick pad, then keep it perfectly straight with the wick centring tool.
- Melt the olive wax for container candles, then pour in a small amount to form a first base layer.
- Next, add 2 to 3 drops of yellow liquid dye and 2 to 3 drops of pink liquid dye directly to the still-liquid wax. Using a stick or spatula, stir very lightly to keep the colour variations rather than blending them evenly.
- Tilt the container slightly, then gently let the wax run down the sides up to about halfway. This technique creates a beautiful pastel gradient reminiscent of a tropical sunset.
- Leave to set for about an hour. While the wax in the container cools, prepare the floral decorations.

2. Make the tropical flowers
- Melt some olive wax for moulded candles, then divide it between two beakers.
- Colour the first batch yellow and the second pink.
- Using a pipette, gently add a few drops of the first colour to the bottom of the Plumeria mould. Then pour in the second colour to fill the mould completely. This gives you lovely two-tone flowers with a natural gradient.

- Leave to set completely before unmoulding.
- If you want to separate the flowers, warm a metal needle slightly, then press it along the dividing lines to detach each flower cleanly.

3. Finish filling the candle
- Once the gradient has fully set, melt some more olive wax for container candles.
- Add 7% to 10% “Monoï” candle fragrance oil at the recommended temperature, then stir gently to distribute the fragrance evenly.
- Pour this scented wax into the container up to the top of the gradient you created earlier.
- Leave to cool and set completely before moving on to the final decoration.

4. Prepare the scented whipped wax
- Melt around 150 g of C3 soy wax, which is particularly well suited to making whipped wax.
- Add 7% to 10% “Monoï” candle fragrance oil, then stir thoroughly.
- Let the wax cool until it starts to thicken. Then whisk it until you get a firm, light and airy texture.
- Spoon the whipped wax into a piping bag fitted with the nozzle of your choice, then start piping.
5. Decorate your tropical paradise candle
- Pipe the whipped wax generously over the entire surface of the candle.
- As you decorate, alternate rosettes of whipped wax with the tropical flowers you made earlier to create a rich, colourful and harmonious design.

- Take care not to place the decorations too close to the wick, so that the candle burns at its best.
- Then leave the candle to set completely before handling it.
Decorating tip
To bring out the tropical spirit of your creation, make several flowers with different gradients by varying the proportions of pink and yellow. You will get a more natural look, reminiscent of freshly bloomed exotic flowers.
You can also play with the height and shape of the whipped wax to give your candle more volume.
Storage tips
Store your candle away from heat and direct sunlight to preserve its pastel colours, its fragrance and the quality of its whipped wax.
To keep dust at bay, protect your creation under a glass cloche when you are not using it.
