Equipment and ingredients
To make this Easter candle with two-tone whipped wax, you will need:
- A clear glass candle container (200 mL used here)
- A TCR 30/18 or 33/18 wick, depending on your fragrance and dye load
- C3 soy wax for container candles, about 200 g
- Olive wax for moulded candles, about 60 g
- A “Flower & bow” silicone mould
- The fragrance of your choice (Garden flower used here)
- Light pink dye chips
- Yellow liquid dye
- White dye chips to soften the shades
- A piping bag and nozzle
- A spatula
- Two separate bowls
- A hand or electric whisk, ideally one per bowl
- A beaker

Making the decorative wax bows and flowers
- Melt the olive wax for moulded candles to 80°C.
- Add the fragrance when the wax reaches 75°C, then stir thoroughly so it is evenly distributed.
- Add dye if you wish:
- Liquid dye: at about 70°C
- Dye chips: at about 75°C
For a bright pastel look, add a touch of white dye chips
- Pour the wax into the “Flower & bow” mould and leave it to set completely before gently unmoulding.
- Set the decorations aside for the final assembly.
Making the pastel two-tone whipped wax
The whipped wax is the signature feature of this candle. It adds volume, texture and a much-loved dessert-like effect.
- Melt the C3 soy wax for container candles to 80°C.
- Add the fragrance at 75°C and stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Divide the scented wax between two separate bowls, ideally in equal amounts.

- In the first bowl, add the yellow liquid dye at about 70°C.
- In the second, add the light pink dye chips at about 75°C.
- To soften the shades, add a touch of white dye chips to each mixture.

Whipping the wax
- Let the wax cool until it starts to turn opaque.
- Then whip each mixture separately until it is light, thick and stable. For a clean result with clearly separate colours, use one whisk per bowl.

Piping the two-tone whipped wax
Once the texture is firm but still soft, start piping immediately.
- Using a spatula, spoon the pink whipped wax into one side of the piping bag.
- Add the yellow whipped wax to the other side to create the two-tone effect.
- Pipe into the container with a steady, even motion for a harmonious finish

Adding the decorative bows
Gently place the scented bows on the whipped wax while it is still soft, so they stick properly to the surface. Then leave the candle to rest for several hours before handling or lighting it.
Tips for a professional finish
- Build up the dye gradually to keep control of the pastel shade.
- Avoid overloading the top with decorations so they do not interfere with the flame.
- Always carry out burn tests if the candle is intended for sale.
This Easter candle with two-tone whipped wax combines creativity, technical skill and a soft, delicate look. It is an ideal piece for your spring collections or limited seasonal editions. You can also adapt this creation to design an elegant, original candle for a gender reveal.
