The 44 x 65 mm pointed cylinder polycarbonate candle mould is the ideal partner for making moulded candles with clean, even lines. Thanks to its rigid, transparent structure, it produces a perfectly smooth cylinder with a polished finish worthy of professional production.
Polycarbonate is a strong, durable material suited to repeated use. It makes visual checks easy during pouring and allows clean demoulding when the making steps are followed correctly.
We do not recommend using beeswax in polycarbonate moulds.
Unlike flexible moulds, polycarbonate ensures excellent stability and holds its shape perfectly. It gives you:
For the best demoulding results, it is essential to respect the wax temperature and cooling times.
Place your wax in a suitable container and heat it to 80 to 90 °C, checking with a thermometer. A controlled temperature is essential for an even surface and easier demoulding.
Warning : never melt wax directly in a saucepan or over a naked flame.
To personalise your cylindrical candles, add colourant chips or liquid colourant, about 2 to 4 g per 1 kg of wax. Test the colour by pouring a small amount of wax into cold water. Too much colourant can impair burn quality.
Choose a wick suited to the diameter of the mould. Tie a double knot at one end and insert it through the tip of the mould. Secure it at the other end with a pin, making sure the knot properly blocks the opening to prevent any leaks.
Fill the mould with the liquid wax. As it cools, a dip may appear in the centre. Top up with a little hot wax if necessary. For layered moulding, the mould can be tilted slightly and steadied in a suitable holder.
Once the wax has cooled completely, cut the knot at the base and carefully remove the candle. If needed, place the mould in the fridge for a few minutes to make removal easier.
Work on a protected surface and wear an apron. Make sure the mould is completely clean and dry before use. Always check the wax temperature with a thermometer.
Candle moulding must always be carried out under adult supervision. Wax vapour becomes flammable from 180 °C. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and place it on a fire-resistant surface.
The polycarbonate cylinder candle mould is a reliable tool for every maker of handmade candles. Sturdy, precise and reusable, it lets you produce elegant, perfectly even cylindrical candles, suited to decoration and to sale alike.
